Spot Rupiah Weakens 0.24% to Rp 15,895 per US Dollar on Monday (1/4)

ILUSTRASI. The spot rupiah closed at the level of Rp 15,895 per United States (US) dollar at the end of trading on Monday (1/4).


RUPIAH - JAKARTA. The spot rupiah closed at the level of Rp 15,895 per US dollar at the end of trading on Monday (1/4), weakening 0.24% from the end of last week which was at Rp 15,857 per US dollar.

In Asia, the majority of currencies weakened against the US dollar. The rupiah led the weakening, down 0.24%, followed by the Korean won which weakened 0.14%, the Chinese yuan weakened 0.10%.

The Philippine peso weakened 0.10%, the Thai baht weakened 0.04%, the Malaysian ringgit weakened 0.02% and the Hong Kong dollar weakened 0.008% against the US dollar.

Meanwhile, other Asian currencies strengthened against the US dollar this afternoon. The Taiwan dollar strengthened 0.05%, the Singapore dollar strengthened 0.05% and the Japanese yen strengthened 0.007% against the US dollar.

Meanwhile, the dollar index, which reflects the exchange rate of the US dollar against the world's major currencies, is at 104.54, up from the end of last week which was at 104.48.
