Spot Rupiah Closed Up 0.42% to Rp 15,705 Per US Dollar on Wednesday (6/3)

RUPIAH - JAKARTA. The spot rupiah closed at the level of Rp 15,705 per US dollar at the end of trading on Wednesday (6/3), strengthening 0.42% from the previous day which was at Rp 15,771 per US dollar.

In Asia, the rupiah led the strengthening of Asian currencies against the US dollar. In addition to the rupiah, the Thai baht also strengthened by 0.23%, the Japanese yen rose by 0.20%, the Philippine peso rose by 0.18%, the Singapore dollar rose by 0.09%, the Malaysian ringgit rose by 0.08%, the Hong Kong dollar rose by 0.02% and the Indian rupee rose by 0.002% against the US dollar.

Meanwhile, other Asian currencies weakened against the US dollar this afternoon. The Korean won weakened by 0.007%, the Taiwan dollar weakened by 0.01% and the Chinese yuan weakened by 0.04% against the US dollar.

Meanwhile, the dollar index, which reflects the exchange rate of the US dollar against the world's major currencies, is at 103.67, down from the previous day which was at 103.79.
