Rupiah Spot Strengthens 0.16% to Rp 15,635 Per US Dollar at Wednesday (21/2)

RUPIAH - JAKARTA. The spot rupiah closed at the level of Rp 15,635 per US dollar at the end of trading on Wednesday (21/2), strengthening 0.16% from the previous day which was at Rp 15,660 per US dollar.

In Asia, the majority of currencies strengthened against the US dollar. The Thai baht recorded the largest increase of 0.43%, followed by the Korean won which strengthened 0.21%, the Philippine peso rose 0.18%, the rupiah rose 0.16%, the Malaysian ringgit rose 0.08%, the Chinese yuan rose 0.07%, the Singapore dollar rose 0.02% and the Hong Kong dollar rose 0.008% against the US dollar.

Meanwhile, the Japanese yen and the Taiwan dollar weakened against the US dollar this afternoon with a weakening of 0.09% and 0.11% respectively.

Meanwhile, the dollar index, which reflects the exchange rate of the US dollar against the world's major currencies, is at 104.02, down from the previous day which was at 104.07.
