Spot Rupiah Strengthens 0.10% to Rp 15,704 Per US Dollar on Friday (1/3)

RUPIAH - JAKARTA. The spot rupiah closed at the level of Rp 15,704 per US dollar at the end of trading on Friday (1/3), strengthening 0.10% from the previous day which was at Rp 15,719 per US dollar. 

In a week, the spot rupiah weakened 0.67% from the end of last week which was at Rp 15,598 per US dollar.

In Asia, the rupiah strengthened along with several other currencies, such as the Philippine peso which rose 0.34%, the Malaysian ringgit rose 0.05%, the Indian rupee rose 0.04% and the Hong Kong dollar which rose 0.008% against the US dollar.

Meanwhile, the majority of Asian currencies weakened against the US dollar. The Japanese yen recorded the deepest depreciation of 0.38%, the Korean won weakened 0.27%, the Chinese yuan weakened 0.07%, the Singapore dollar weakened 0.04% and the Taiwan dollar which weakened 0.03% against the US dollar.

Meanwhile, the dollar index reflecting the exchange rate of the US dollar against the world's major currencies is at 104.12, down from the previous day which was at 104.15.
