Spot Rupiah Strengthens 0.42% to Rp 15,590 Per US Dollar on Friday (8/3)

RUPIAH - JAKARTA. The spot rupiah closed at the level of Rp 15,590 per US dollar at the end of trading on Friday (8/3), strengthening by 0.42% from the previous day which was at Rp 15,655 per US dollar.

In a week, the rupiah strengthened by 0.73% from the position of Rp 15,704 per US dollar last week.

In Asia, all currencies uniformly strengthened against the US dollar this afternoon. The Korean won recorded the largest increase of 0.85%, followed by the Philippine peso which rose by 0.45%, the rupiah strengthened by 0.42%, the Taiwan dollar rose by 0.38%, the Malaysian ringgit rose by 0.29% and the Thai baht rose by 0.22%.

Next, the Japanese yen rose by 0.10%, the Singapore dollar rose by 0.05%, the Chinese yuan rose by 0.04% against the US dollar. Meanwhile, the Hong Kong dollar remained stagnant.

Meanwhile, the dollar index reflecting the exchange rate of the US dollar against the world's major currencies is at 102.86, up from the previous day which was at 102.82.
