Spot Rupiah Closed Weaker at Rp 15,718 Per US Dollar Today (19/3)

ILUSTRASI. Tuesday (19/3), the spot rupiah closed down 0.17% to Rp 15,718 per US dollar.


RUPIAH - JAKARTA. The rupiah exchange rate in the spot market finally broke back above Rp 15,700 per US dollar today. On Tuesday (19/3), the spot rupiah closed at the level of Rp 15,718 per US dollar.

This caused the spot rupiah to weaken by 0.17% compared to the previous day's closing at Rp 15,691 per US dollar. The movement of the rupiah is in line with the majority of currencies in Asia.

As of 15.00 WIB, the Japanese yen became the currency with the deepest depreciation in Asia after falling 0.75%. Followed by the Philippine peso which closed down 0.66%.

Next, the South Korean won and the Taiwan dollar closed depreciated by 0.45% and 0.34% respectively. Then there is the Malaysian ringgit which corrected 0.33%.

Next, the Singapore dollar was pressured 0.2% this afternoon. Followed by the Thai baht and the Indian rupee which slipped, each by 0.17% and 0.09%.

Then, the Hong Kong dollar was seen to fall 0.02% and the Chinese yuan weakened slightly 0.01% against the greenback.
