RUPIAH - JAKARTA. The exchange rate of the rupiah in the spot market appeared strong until the end of trading today. On Wednesday (13/3), the spot rupiah closed at a level of Rp 15,575 per US dollar.
This made the rupiah strengthen by 0.1% compared to the closing on Friday (8/3) at Rp 15,590 per US dollar. The movement of the rupiah is inversely proportional to the majority of currencies in the region.
Until 15:00 WIB, most currencies in Asia weakened, where the South Korean won became the currency with the deepest depreciation in Asia after closing down 0.27%.
Next, the Malaysian ringgit which corrected 0.21% and the Taiwan dollar which has closed down 0.17%. Followed by the Chinese yuan which slipped 0.15%.

Next, the Philippine peso which has closed depreciated 0.13% and the Indian rupee which also fell 0.13%. Then there is the Singapore dollar which weakened slightly by 0.02%.
Meanwhile, the Thai baht became the currency with the largest appreciation in Asia after soaring 0.17%. Followed by the Japanese yen which rose 0.01%.
Then, the Hong Kong dollar appeared to strengthen slightly by 0.001% against the greenback this afternoon.
