Weakest in Asia, Spot Rupiah Closes Weaker at Rp 15,742 Per US Dollar Today

ILUSTRASI. Monday (4/3), the spot rupiah closed down 0.24% to Rp 15,742 per US dollar, becoming the currency with the deepest depreciation in Asia.


RUPIAH - JAKARTA. The rupiah exchange rate in the spot market continues to be under pressure until the end of trading today. On Monday (4/3), the spot rupiah closed at the level of Rp 15,742 per US dollar.

This makes the rupiah weaken by 0.24% compared to the closing on Friday (1/3) at Rp 15,704 per US dollar. As a result, the rupiah became the currency with the deepest depreciation in Asia.

Until 15.00 WIB, the majority of currencies in the region strengthened. Where, the Malaysian ringgit became the currency with the largest appreciation in Asia after jumping 0.34%.

Next, the South Korean won and the Taiwan dollar both closed with a rise of 0.28%. Followed by the Thai baht which rose 0.19%.

Next, the Philippine peso closed up 0.07% and the Singapore dollar rose 0.07%. Then there is the Hong Kong dollar which appreciated 0.02%.

Then, the Indian rupee was seen strengthening slightly 0.01% against the greenback this afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Japanese yen is one level better than the rupiah after a correction of 0.13%. Followed by the Chinese yuan which weakened 0.03%.
