Spot Rupiah Closed Down at Rp 15,691 Per US Dollar Today (18/3)

ILUSTRASI. Monday (18/3), the spot rupiah closed down 0.59% to Rp 15,691 per US dollar.


RUPIAH - JAKARTA. The rupiah exchange rate in the spot market was unable to escape pressure and instead plummeted at the end of trading today. On Monday (18/3), the spot rupiah closed at a level of Rp 15,691 per US dollar.

This caused the rupiah to weaken by 0.59% compared to the closing on Friday (15/3) at Rp 15,599 per US dollar. As a result, the rupiah became the currency with the deepest depreciation in Asia today.

Until 15.00 WIB, almost all currencies in the region weakened. Where, only the Hong Kong dollar strengthened by 0.04% against the greenback this afternoon.

Meanwhile, the South Korean won was one level better than the rupiah after closing down 0.31%. Followed by the Malaysian ringgit which fell 0.3%.

Next, the Thai baht which was pressured by 0.14% and the Taiwan dollar which had already closed down by 0.13%. Then there is the Japanese yen which depreciated by 0.07%.

Next, the Philippine peso and the Singapore dollar both slipped 0.04%. Followed by the Indian rupee which fell 0.01%.

Then there is the Chinese yuan which weakened slightly by 0.01% in today's trading.
