Spot Rupiah Closed Stronger at Rp 16,220 Per US Dollar Today (23/4)

ILUSTRASI. Tuesday (23/4), the spot rupiah closed up 0.1% to Rp 16,220 per US dollar.


RUPIAH - JAKARTA. The Indonesian rupiah managed to maintain its strength in the spot market until the end of trading today. On Tuesday (23/4), the spot rupiah closed at a level of Rp 16,220 per US dollar. 

This resulted in a 0.1% strengthening of the spot rupiah compared to the previous day's close at Rp 16,237 per US dollar. The movement of the rupiah is in line with the majority of currencies in Asia.

As of 3:00 PM local time, the Taiwanese dollar was the strongest currency in Asia, closing up 0.19%. It was followed by the Thai baht, which rose 0.1%.

Next, the Philippine peso closed up 0.08% and the Indian rupee rose 0.07%. The Malaysian ringgit also increased by 0.03%.

Meanwhile, the Japanese yen was seen to strengthen slightly by 0.02% against the greenback this afternoon.

On the other hand, the Chinese yuan and the Singapore dollar were the weakest currencies in Asia, both correcting by 0.04%.

Lastly, the Hong Kong dollar weakened slightly by 0.02% in today's trading.
