Spot Rupiah Closed Stronger at Rp 15,669 Per US Dollar Today (21/3)

RUPIAH - JAKARTA. The rupiah exchange rate in the spot market was able to maintain its strengthening until the end of trading today. On Thursday (21/3), the spot rupiah closed at the level of Rp 15,669 per US dollar.

This made the spot rupiah strengthen by 0.34% compared to the closing the previous day at Rp 15,723 per US dollar. This strengthening of the rupiah is in line with the majority of currencies in Asia.

Until 15.00 WIB, the Chinese yuan was the only currency in Asia that weakened after falling 0.02% against the greenback.

Meanwhile, the South Korean won became the currency with the largest strengthening in Asia after closing up 1.29%. Followed by the Malaysian ringgit which rose 0.56%.

Next, the Philippine peso and Singapore dollar climbed, each by 0.17% and 0.1%. Then there is the Indian rupee which rose 0.06%.

Next, the Taiwan dollar closed up 0.04%. Followed by the Hong Kong dollar and Thai baht, both appreciated by 0.03%.

Then, the Japanese yen was seen strengthening slightly by 0.02% in this afternoon's trading.
