LISTED COMPANY - JAKARTA. PT Wijaya Karya Tbk (WIKA) has secured a new contract worth IDR 3.17 trillion until February 2024, an increase of 51.5% compared to the same period last year.

Wijaya Kraya's Corporate Secretary, Mahendra Vijaya, explained that the largest contribution to the new contract came from the infrastructure and building construction segment at 53.7%, followed by Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC), industry and property, and investment.

Based on the composition of the employers, most of them come from the State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and government sectors with a monthly progress payment scheme. "This contract achievement marks a good start to the year 2024," said Mahendra in a press release, Thursday (28/3).

The positive trend in terms of new contract achievements continues with the new contract for the Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) Plant Rorotan project in North Jakarta, which is carried out in conjunction with Jaya Konstruksi Manggala Pratama Tbk (Jakon) in a consortium scheme (KSO).

This contract was signed by Andika Firmansyah from the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency and Harum Akhmad Zuhdi, Director of Operations II WIKA in Jakarta, Tuesday (26/3).

Harum Akhmad said that as the contractor for this project, WIKA holds a 60% share of the total project value of IDR 1.28 trillion.

The project, initiated by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the Environmental Agency, aims to support the government's program to reduce the amount of waste in the capital city.

Through this RDF technology, waste will be processed into alternative fuels that can be useful for the cement and electricity industries with lower carbon emissions.

The RDF Plant Rorotan itself will have a waste processing capacity of up to 2,500 tons/day. The processing with homogenizers will produce as much as 875 tons/day of RDF Baller.

"It is an honor for WIKA to be involved in the optimal management of the capital's waste, which will be processed to produce new renewable energy sources," said Harum.

On the other hand, this project also becomes the first RDF portfolio for contractors in Indonesia, which certainly adds value to WIKA. Therefore, we are committed to carrying out this project according to the agreed time and quality targets.
