TELECOMMUNICATION - JAKARTA. In anticipation of the Idulfitri 1445 H holiday, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) has been diligently preparing to ensure top-notch infrastructure and services. This includes bolstering network capacity, preparing personnel, and establishing the special TelkomGroup SIAGA RAFI 2024 Post.

This year's Lebaran holiday is predicted to increase communication traffic by up to 6% compared to regular days and last year's Lebaran. To accommodate this surge, TelkomGroup has preemptively increased internet capacity to 51.8 terabytes per second (tbps). Additionally, the group has expanded network capacity and coverage through a 1.7 Tbps increase in undersea cable infrastructure capacity since January 2024.

CEO of Telkom, Ririek Adriansyah, stated that the surge in telecommunication traffic, similar to previous years, is expected to occur towards the end of Ramadan and leading up to Idulfitri in 2024. This anticipated increase has been calculated and mitigated with additional capacity prepared since the beginning of the year across all TelkomGroup network areas.

"We are ensuring that all infrastructure and services are ready in the best condition to support all communication activities during the Lebaran moment. TelkomGroup is also on standby to secure connectivity for crucial sectors that are also expected to increase leading up to Lebaran, such as banking and points of interest (POI), like airports, ports, terminals, tourist areas, and crowded places," explained Ririek, in a press release received by Kontan.co.id, on Saturday (6/4).
