"XL Axiata's traffic has gradually increased by an average of up to 5% throughout Ramadan compared to traffic on regular days," he said in an official statement, Wednesday (30/3).
Gede said that in addition to increasing capacity, the anticipatory steps taken by XL Axiata include network optimization by looking at the possible movement of community or customer mobility during the Eid holiday period.
"To ensure XL Axiata's network's ability to serve the surge in traffic later, we still increase the capacity 2 times–3 times the normal day," Gede explained.
In addition, the deployment and placement of about 94 mobile BTS fleets were also carried out to support network strengthening in various locations prone to traffic congestion.
Geda said that special locations that become crowded places also get attention. For example, tourist locations, shopping centers and passenger departure points for transportation modes.
XL Axiata has about 59 4G BTS along the Trans Sumatra Toll Road Palembang – Lampung, one of the busiest main sections in Sumatra and the main Eid homecoming route.
In addition to the Trans Sumatra Toll Road Palembang and Lampung, XL Axiata also added BTS in several other sections of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road, including new sections.
