Telkom (TLKM) Projects Traffic Increase for Ramadan Until Eid al-Fitr 2024 Reach 10%

TELKOM - JAKARTA. Telecommunication issuer, PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) projects a rise in telecommunication traffic in the range of 6% to 10% during the Ramadan to Eid 2024 period.

"With the high need for internet access during Ramadan and even leading up to Eid al-Fitr, we predict growth in telecommunication traffic this year. The increase in telecommunication traffic is projected to be in the range of 6%-10%," explained VP of Corporate Communication, Andri Herawan Sasoko to Kontan.co.id, Sunday (17/3).

Andri continued, that during the Ramadan to Eid period this year, TelkomGroup has the TelkomGroup Siaga RAFI 1445H program which provides prime quality for telecommunication infrastructure and networks, provides superior products and services, and presents various loyalty programs and product and service promotions that are customer-centric, which will provide the best experience for customers during the RAFI 2024 period. 

In addition, the resilience of infrastructure, devices, and communication links are also regularly monitored through network optimization programs, capacity additions, and traffic engineering on links and critical areas of the Eid homecoming route.

"An increase in capacity of 28 Tbps is also carried out to anticipate the surge in telecommunication traffic that continues to increase every year, where this year it is projected to reach 20.4 Tbps, an increase of 5.15% or 1 Tbps from RAFI 2023," he added. 

Regarding capex, Andri is still reluctant to disclose this year's capex value but the capex allocation is planned to be used for fiber deployment, SKKL Submarine Cable, BTS/Node-B.

"This includes the replacement of production equipment that has expired and the retention of deployed production equipment," he explained.
