JAKARTA. Jahja Setiaatmadja, the current vice president of Bank Central Asia (BCA), Indonesia’s largest private lender, has been appointed to lead the bank pending tests by the central bank.
The BCA shareholders meeting on Thursday agreed to appoint Jahja as the bank's president director, to replace DE Setijoso who will chair the board of commissioners, Jahja says.
"The final decision will still need approval from Bank Indonesia through the fit-and-proper mechanism," Jahja told reporters in a text message on Thursday.
Jahja is graduated from the University of Indonesia (UI) School of Economics in 1975, and has held several key positions in banking and economics, including at the renowned global consulting and accounting firm Price Waterhouse Coopers. (The Jakarta Post)
