Indonesia Still Imports Gold and Gems, Most From Australia

IMPORT - JAKARTA. JAKARTA. According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesia imported precious metals and jewelry or gems (HS 71) in April 2024, with the majority of these commodities coming from Australia.

Pudji Ismartini, Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics at the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), reported that the import value of precious metals and jewelry or gems reached US$ 248 billion in April 2024, with an import volume of 562 tons. This figure represents an increase from the March 2024 imports, which totaled US$ 173 million.
