Acquisition of Bank Permata, this week Bank Mandiri negotiated with Astra & Stanchart

BANKING - JAKARTA. PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI, member of Kompas100 index) prepares to acquire PT Bank Permata Tbk (BNLI, member of Kompas100 index). Bank Mandiri President Director Kartika Wiroatmodjo said that this week the company would start negotiations with two Bank Permata shareholders, namely PT Astra International Tbk (ASII, member of Kompas100 index) and Standard Chartered Bank (Stanchart).

"At the moment we are finalizing due diligence. After that we will start negotiations starting this week with two Permata Bank owners (Astra and Stanchart)," he said, Tuesday (9/4).

Kartika denied that Bank Mandiri had submitted a price offer for Bank Permata. "I have not been able to disclose because everything is a public company. And the name is a negotiation; there is also a hope of the buyer, there is a seller's desire. If the price is right, then continue. If the price is not suitable, stop," he said.

Kartika ensured that Bank Mandiri had enough funds to acquire Bank Permata. The funds come from excess capital of Rp 30 trillion.
