Vladimir Putin Congratulates Prabowo on Victory After Australia, Singapore

VLADIMIR PUTIN - JAKARTA. Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended his congratulations to presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto on his victory in the Indonesian general election on February 14, as per the quick count results by several survey institutions. 

Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated the General Chairman of the Gerindra Party on his election as President in the Indonesian election, according to the quick count results showing an average score above 55%.

Vladimir Putin stated that the Russia-Indonesia relationship has been based on good friendship traditions and mutual respect and has successfully developed in various fields.

"I am confident that your activities as head of state will contribute to the further advancement of Russia-Indonesia cooperation in all aspects, for the benefit of our countries and to strengthen security and stability in the Asia-Pacific region," he said via Telegram posted on the social media account of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In addition, President Putin also stated, "I look forward to a constructive dialogue with you and beneficial cooperation on current issues in the bilateral and international agenda."

Previously, Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese stated that he had called presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto to extend his congratulations on Thursday (15/2) morning.

This congratulation came after the quick count results from several survey institutions that conducted a quick count or quick count of the implementation of the Presidential and Vice Presidential General Election 2024.

"As a fellow democratic country and close friend, Australia extends its congratulations to Indonesia for successfully holding the presidential election on February 14," he said on Twitter account X posted on Thursday afternoon.
 
Albanese stated that he was honored to be the first foreign leader to speak today with Prabowo Subianto, who clearly leads in official and unofficial counts. 

He stated in that conversation that he had conveyed Australia's ambition to build the future of Australia-Indonesia relations.

Previously, presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto stated that he had received congratulations from four prime ministers of friendly countries.

They have congratulated on the conduct of the general election in Indonesia, especially the general election of the President and Vice President of Indonesia which shows superiority over the pair Prabowo Subianto Gibran Rakabuming Raka through quick count or quick count.

"This morning received a phone call containing congratulations on the ongoing election results from several country leaders," said Prabowo Subianto through Instagram account #prabowo. 

The four prime ministers who congratulated on the victory in the quick count of the 2024 Presidential Election are Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, Singapore Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong, Malaysian Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim, and Sri Lankan President, Ranil Wickremesinghe. 

"Alhamdulillah, we must be grateful and continue to guard the official results of the General Election Commission," said Prabowo.
