As we knew before, BYD officially debuted at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2024 last week. In the automotive exhibition, BYD brought three of its electric car models, namely BYD Dolphin, BYD Atto 3, and BYD Seal.
These three models were introduced to the public in mid-January. However, BYD has not yet announced their official prices.
Now, BYD officially announces the selling price of the BYD Dolphin electric car worth Rp 425 million for the Premium Extended type.
In addition, BYD Atto 3 is sold for Rp 515 million for the Superior type.
Meanwhile, BYD Seal is priced at Rp 629 million for the Premium Variant type and Rp 719 million for the Performance Variant type.
BYD Motor Indonesia's President Director, Eagle Zhao, did not clearly answer whether electric car import tax exemption incentives and PPnBM or not have cut the price of BYD electric cars in Indonesia.
What is clear, the price of BYD electric cars is determined through in-depth analysis by adjusting to the characteristics of Indonesian consumers.
BYD did not disclose the temporary order numbers for its three new electric car models in Indonesia. "We are confident that BYD sales will increase after the price announcement," Zhao explained when met by KONTAN at IIMS 2024, on Thursday (15/2).
He added, basically BYD Dolphin, Atto 3, and Seal target different market segments. All three models have equal opportunities to record impressive sales in Indonesia.
To maximize sales, BYD has opened 8 showrooms, 5 of which are in Jabodetabek, while the rest are in Medan, Bandung, and Semarang. BYD will certainly continue to add showroom networks to various regions of Indonesia in the future.
Not only that, BYD has also stated its commitment to developing an electric car factory in Indonesia. “We hope to start the groundbreaking process and construction of the electric car factory this year,” Zhao concluded.
