Rupiah Spot Weakens Slightly by 0.01% to Rp 15,897 per US Dollar on Tuesday (2/4)

ILUSTRASI. The spot rupiah closed at the level of Rp 15,897 per US dollar at the end of trading on Tuesday (2/4).


RUPIAH - JAKARTA. NEW YORK. The Indonesian Rupiah closed at a level of Rp 15,897 per US dollar at the end of trading on Tuesday (2/4), a slight depreciation of 0.01% from the previous day's level of Rp 15,895 per US dollar.

In Asia, the majority of currencies uniformly weakened against the US dollar. The Malaysian Ringgit recorded the deepest depreciation of 0.49%, followed by the Taiwanese dollar which weakened by 0.33%, the Thai baht depreciated by 0.26%, the Korean won weakened by 0.21%, the Philippine peso depreciated by 0.18%.

Then, the Chinese yuan weakened by 0.06%, the Singapore dollar depreciated by 0.04%, the Hong Kong dollar weakened by 0.02%, the Japanese yen depreciated by 0.01% and the rupiah also weakened by 0.01% against the US dollar.

Meanwhile, the Indian rupee was the only currency in Asia that strengthened against the US dollar, with an increase of 0.04%.

In the meantime, the dollar index, which reflects the exchange rate of the US dollar against the world's major currencies, stood at 104.99, down from the previous day's level of 105.01.
