Rupiah exchange rate continues to weaken

JAKARTA. The US dollar continued to dominate the rupiah in the spot market by gaining 0.59 percent, resulting in the rupiah standing at 11,270 per US dollar at 1.51 p.m. on Wednesday.

The rupiah has weakened by 8.82 percent within the last month. The rupiah is being traded at an even weaker rate by some money changers.

For example, the rupiah is being bought at 11,620 per US dollar and sold at 11,670 per US dollar by the Dolarindo currency exchange outlet.

In banks, the rupiah is being sold at between 11,750 and 11,900 per US dollar.
