JAKARTA. A bullet has been found in the fourth floor of the Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry building in Jl. Rasuna Said, South Jakarta. The building was allegedly shot at on Thursday afternoon.
"There has been a shooting on the fourth floor [and] we have found the bullet," said South Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Wahyu Hadiningrat on Friday as quoted by tempo.co.
Wahyu added that the National Police forensics laboratory (Puslabfor) is currently scouring the scene for further clues.
According to a report by kompas.com, the shot allegedly came from the Casablanca flyover.
ESDM public relations official Judhi Purdhiyanto told tempo.co that the room that had been shot at belonged to ministry staff member Widyawan Prawiraatmadja and was situated in the new ESDM Ministry building, also known as the ASEAN Center for Energy building. Fortunately the building was empty at the time of the incident.
Judhi added that the incident occurred at around 1 p.m., when he was accompanying Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said to a press conference in another building.
Jakarta Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Mohammad Iqbal told kompas.com on Friday that there were no casualties in the incident.
