A major boost came from the firm’s multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), the Grand Livina, whose sales topped 17,471 units, up 35 percent from a year ago, contributing 53.22 percent to Nissan’s sales in the January-June period, president director Kintaro Izumida said in a statement released on Wednesday.
The hatchback Nissan March and the compact crossover Nissan Juke accounted for 15.96 percent and 14.43 percent of sales, respectively, according to the firm’s statistics.
Nissan said that it has received 3,500 orders for the Nissan Evalia, which was launched last month.
Nissan’s sole local authorized dealer said it was aiming to sell 90,000 units in the 2012 fiscal year (April 2012 to March 2013), or 10 percent of the domestic automobile market. (The Jakarta Post)
