PT LION MENTARI AIRLINES (LION AIR) - JAKARTA. The airline company Lion Air said it was very concerned about the accident of the Lion Air plane that headed to Pangkalpinang today, Monday (10/29). Lion Air's Strategic Corporate Communications Danang Mandala Prihantoro said Lion Air will collaborate with relevant agencies and all parties involved in providing further information related to this accident.

"In connection with this incident, we opened a crisis centre on telephone numbers 021-80820000 and for passenger information at telephone number 021-80820002," he said in a written statement received by Kontan.co.id, Monday (10/29).

Lion Air aircraft with JT 610 flight number had an accident after taking off from Soekarno Hatta International Airport at 06:20 WIB.

After flying for 13 minutes, the plane crashed at the coordinates of S 5'49.052 "E 107 '06.628" (around Kerawang). The aircraft carried 178 adult passengers of one child passenger and two baby passengers. There were also three flight attendants who were undergoing training and one technician.

"The aircraft is Boeing 737 MAX type 8 and has a PK-LQP registration number. This aircraft is made in 2018 and has only been operated by Lion Air since August 15, 2018. The aircraft is declared operationally feasible," he added.

Capt. Bhavye Suneja was the pilot of the aircraft. The copilot is Harvin. While the six cabin crew on duty on the plane were Shintia Melina, Citra Noivita Anggelia, Alviani Hidayatul Solikha, Damayanti Simarmata, Mery Yulianda, and Deny Maula. (Translator: Barratut Taqiyyah Rafie)
