GENERAL ELECTION - JAKARTA. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulates Prabowo Subianto on his victory in the 2024 Indonesian presidential election quick count.

Modi's congratulations follow those from world leaders and ambassadors of Indonesia's friendly nations to Prabowo Subianto.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's congratulations were conveyed through his social media account x, commonly referred to as his Twitter @narendramodi.

"Congratulations to the people of Indonesia on the successful Presidential elections and @prabowo on his leadership. I look forward to working with the new Presidency to further strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and Indonesia," he said. 

In response to this congratulatory message, Prabowo Subianto responded to the tweet about 20 hours later, thanking Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his congratulatory message on the Indonesian election.

Through his Twitter account @prabowo, Prabowo agreed with what Prime Minister Modi said about further strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Indonesia and India to a higher level. "I look forward to working closer with you," wrote Prabowo.

Previously, several country leaders have expressed their congratulations on Prabowo Subianto's victory in the Indonesian election, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, the Prime Ministers of Australia, Singapore, and Malaysia, and representatives of several friendly nations in Indonesia.
