JAKARTA. A survivor of the Fokker F-27 aircraft crash passed away in the early hours of Friday morning, raising the death toll to 11 people, an official confirmed.

Indonesian Air Force chief spokesman Air Commodore Azman Yunus said on Friday that the victim, Onci Belorundun, passed away at 2:45 a.m. after being treated at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Hospital.

“She was the sister of Maj. Yohanes who lived in the Rajawali housing complex in East Jakarta, where the accident took place,” Azman told The Jakarta Post.

Previous reports said that the woman, who was rushed to the hospital after the aircraft slammed into the housing complex inside the Halim Perdanakusuma Airbase compound on Thursday, was Yohanes’ wife.

With his sister’s death, Yohanes lost four of his relatives, including his mother, Martina Roreng (previously reported as Yohanes’ wife), 60, his daughter (not his son as previously reported) Brian Kristiabel, 7-years-old, and his nephew (not his niece as previously reported) who was also Onci’s son, 2-year-old Naflin.

“All of the major’s deceased relatives have already been sent to Toraja, South Sulawesi, for burial,” said Azman.

According to Air Force data, onboard casualties included pilot First Lt. Paulus, Maj. Hery Setiawan, First Lt. Syahroni, Capt. Agus S W, Sgt. Maj. Sihmulato, Chief. Sgt. Wahyudi and First Sgt. Purwo.

According to the spokesman, at least nine civilians were currently being treated at the hospital after suffering minor injuries.

The aircraft crashed into the ground at the Rajawali housing complex in East Jakarta’s Makassar district at 2:45 p.m.

The incident occurred weeks after a Russian-made Sukhoi aircraft crashed into Mt. Salak in West Java during a demonstration flight, killing all 45 people aboard.
