JAKARTA. Carmaker Astra-Daihatsu Motor (ADM) expects to sell 125,000 automobiles this year, an 8.7 percent increase from last year's 115,000 units.

In line with the increase in sales, the company also expected to boost slightly its market share from 15.5 percent last year to 15.6 percent in 2011, ADM marketing director Amelia Tjandra said Wednesday in Jakarta.

She said to help meet the targets, ADM would build two new outlets while upgrading dozens of existing ones.

Currently, it operates a total of 179 outlets throughout the country.

The company, Amelia added, was optimistic it could reach the target as demand for automobiles in Indonesia had been increasing along with buyers' higher purchasing power, as suggested by Indonesia's average income per capita of more than US$3,000 last year. (The Jakarta Post)
