JAKARTA. Local low-cost carrier Citilink is set to expand into online hotel booking by teaming up with Bangkok-based international Internet tour and travel agent Agoda.

Citilink, a former subsidiary of the national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Agoda on Wednesday to pave the way for the partnership.

PT Citilink Indonesia’s spokesman Aristo Kristandyo said that customers seeking to book hotels at destinations covered by Agoda would be able to do so through Citilink’s website.

“With the collaboration, Citilink will be able to facilitate the travel needs of our customers by booking flight tickets, hotel reservations and other tourism services on one site only, www.citilink.co.id,” he said in a statement made available to The Jakarta Post.

Citilink, whose fleet of 14 aircraft comprises Airbus-320s and Boeing 737-400s, currently serves eight domestic routes, including Jakarta to Batam, Banjarmasin, Denpasar and Surabaya; and Surabaya to Medan and Denpasar. (Amahl S. Azwar/ The Jakarta Post)
