GREEN BUSINESS - JAKARTA. AtriaDC, an environmentally friendly data center service provider company, focuses on developing data center assets with a high-speed and reliable transmission network within the city (edge).

AtriaDC currently operates a purpose-built data center located near major internet exchanges and end users, thus enabling low-latency connectivity that is enable to create the best experience for end-users. In the next two years, AtriaDC investments of USD100-150 million or around Rp1.5-2.2 trillion to strengthen its business.

The President Director of AtriaDC, Angelo Syailendra, clarified, the Company has operated a data center that allows customers to connect with the global ecosystem quickly and flexibly. Therefore, AtriaDC will continue to focus on developing data centers within the city that become centers of economic and business interaction. With the concept of an environmentally friendly data center, AtriaDC also wants to support the Indonesian government's efforts in realizing net zero emissions in 2060.

“Our commitment is to build and develop environmentally friendly data centers in the city to become a strategic partner for customers in achieving their business targets through digital transformation. We believe that with the support of our human resources and technology, The AtriaDC data center can be a solution for the company's needs to colocate, interconnect, and provide a world-class digital experience for partners, customers, and end-users,” explained Angelo on Wednesday (17/8/2022).

AtriaDC also carries the concept of purpose built, where the building is specially designed as a data center. This AtriaDC data center owns the land to become a data center with the concept of "purpose built in the city" which is the largest in Indonesia. Because of it is designed and developed to world-class standards, the AtriaDC data centers have a very aggressive service level with an uptime rate of up to 99,999% and the highest security standards.

“The digitization process in Indonesia takes place very quickly and it requires the support of a large data center with world-class service standards. At AtriaDC we strive to continuously improve and maintain service levels according to customer needs,” said Angelo.

To support its business strategy, AtriaDC has acquired data center assets that have been already operated in the city located in the West Jakarta area with landbank availability that provides a total capacity of around 30 megawatts (MW). The next, AtriaDC will continue to build or acquire environmentally friendly data center assets in the city by adhering to ESG (environmental, social, and governance) principles through the creation of a green data center and the efficient use of renewable energy technology.

“This acquisition is our first step to strengthen AtriaDC's position as a data center provider within the city by considering the size of the end-user population in the surrounding area and the level of network density which is the main criterion of the Edge data center business. We believe that this strategy will support AtriaDC's long-term target to become the best, leading data center company and become a solution for business people and also Indonesia’s digital society,” Angelo disclosed.

The Atria DC development as an environmentally friendly data center will be fully supported by PT Saratoga Investama Sedaya Tbk (SRTG) as the main shareholder. This support for AtriaDC is a proof of Saratoga's consistency as an active investment company to take initiatives first in developing and realizing the progress of the digital economy in Indonesia. The full support of Saratoga will enable AtriaDC to execute its business plan in a measured, disciplined and optimal manner.

The rapid growth of the digital economy in Indonesia has not been balanced with the capacity of qualified installed data centers. Compared to the five main countries in ASEAN (Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines), Indonesia has an installed data center capacity share of 12.7%.

Whereas, the mobile users (43.8%) and the internet users (41.2%) in Indonesia are the largest. With a population of more than 270 million in Indonesia, the Indonesian installed capacity of current data center is only 0.6 watts per capita or an aggregate average of around 167 megawatts, lower than Japan, which with a population of 126 million people has a data center installed capacity of around 15 watts per capita.

“This is a very promising potential. The number of Indonesian internet users who have reached 73.7% of the total population certainly needs data center support with a reliable, fast, and stable network. We’re trying to optimize this digitalization opportunity with the best service supported by reliable infrastructure and human resources,” added Angelo.
