JAKARTA. Eleven casualties from Monday’s collision between a commuter train and a 24,000-liter gasoline tanker in Pondok Betung, Bintaro, South Jakarta, were still being treated at the Dr. Suyoto Hospital as of Friday.
"As of today [Friday], 11 people are still being treated here," Dita Yuli Astuti, the hospital's spokeswoman, said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Dita explained that all of the 11 patients were in stable condition and were housed in general treatment rooms. None of them was in intensive care, she said.
Seven people were killed in the accident, including the train's engineer, Darman Prasetyo, 32; assistant engineer Agus Suroto, 24, and PT KAI employee Sofyan Hadi.
Around 80 people were injured and taken to different hospitals, including Dr. Suyoto, Fatmawati and Pertamina Central hospitals - all of which are in South Jakarta - for treatment. Fifty-eight people who suffered minor injuries were discharged on the Monday.
