Wismilak (WIIM) Adds 6 Machine Units for Cigarette Filter Production

CORPORATE ACTION - JAKARTA. PT Wismilak Inti Makmur Tbk (WIIM) is preparing several strategies for this year. One of them is to increase the production of filter products, which have been continuously growing in sales since last year.

WIIM's Company Secretary, Surjanto Yasaputera, stated that WIIM is adding production facilities this year by bringing in six new machines. Most of these new machines have already arrived, which can boost filter production for the following quarters. 

"For the volume of filter production, we have expanded a lot in filter production, so there are several new filter machines that we have brought in to increase production capacity in filters," Surjanto revealed in a Public Presentation on Monday (27/5).

With this expansion agenda, WIIM management is optimistic that it can meet the filter production target of 6.7 billion filter sticks or equivalent to 26.8 billion cigarettes by the end of 2024. 

He added that Wismilak Filter also continues to focus on strengthening brand positioning and achieving growth in the domestic and foreign markets, one of which is by actively participating in international exhibitions. This year, Wismilak Filter will participate in exhibitions in the Asia and Middle East regions. 

In addition, WIIM will also boost the sales volume of hand-rolled clove cigarettes (SKT) this year. For the SKT sector, they have set a target to increase sales volume by 10%-15% compared to last year. 

"For SKT, it's not difficult because it's done by humans. So we recruit rollers so production capacity can increase. We have done it gradually," he added. 

Meanwhile, for Machine-made Clove Cigarettes (SKM) products, WIIM is trying to maintain a production volume of 2.8 billion sticks throughout this year. Understandably, SKM sales have been on a downward trend since the end of last year due to price adjustments. 

Nevertheless, WIIM management is still trying to maximize the sales of this SKM by launching new SKM products this year.
