WIJAYA KARYA / WIKA - JAKARTA. PT Wijaya Karya Tbk (WIKA) ensures that the China Indonesia Fast Train (KCIC) project that connects Jakarta-Bandung will continue. This state-owned company is even ready to build a temporary factory, to produce girder and concrete.

The process of land acquisition for the construction of the plant has reached 82%. "So it has begun to be able to produce," explained Tumiyana, President Director of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk when contacted by KONTAN, Sunday (25/11).

Wijaya Karya will soon build pillars in that location.  According to WIKA, building pillars are part of an effort to accelerate the construction of the KCIC project.

Wijaya Karya targets KCIC's physical development stage to reach 5% by the end of this year.  Based on their records, the current physical development of the project has only reached 3.7%.

For information only, the Ministry of Transportation (Kemhub) has formed a coordination team that has the main task of preventing congestion in the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) Toll Road. The three projects include KCIC, Japek II Elevated Toll Road and light rail transit (LRT) or light rail.

Wijaya Karya claims coordination with the Ministry of Transportation is still going well. "So the target for completion of KCIC is still the same as the initial plan," said Tumiyana.

The target for completion of the KCIC project development is in 2021. The length of the Jakarta-Bandung fast train track reaches 142.3 kilometers (km). (Translator: Barratut Taqiyyah Rafie)
