UNILEVER - JAKARTA. PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR) posted a net profit of Rp 7.3 trillion in the third quarter of 2018. The net profit grew 39.7% over the same period last year. Meanwhile, Unilever recorded net sales of Rp. 31.5 trillion in the same period.

Based on the unaudited financial statements of the company, UNVR managed to record a sales value of Rp 10.3 trillion, an increase of 5.5% in the third quarter of 2018. This figure is without including the spreads business sales.

Sancoyo Antarikso, Director and Corporate Secretary of UNVR said, the company strives to grow by presenting innovations and initiatives to reach different consumer needs and market segmentation.

One strategy Unilever is doing is entering the business in a new category, by launching Jawara chili sauce and launching a new body care product, namely Korean Glow soap.

"In the midst of intensive competition like today, we are trying to increase competitiveness in the market by encouraging sustainable and profitable growth," he said in an official statement on Tuesday (10/23).

In addition to launching new initiatives, in the third quarter of 2018 UNVR also undertook a corporate action to sell spreads category assets with a net transaction value of Rp 2.8 trillion. (Translator: Barratut Taqiyyah Rafie)
