E-COMMERCE - JAKARTA. Tokopedia is striving to maximize the potential of e-commerce business in 2024 through several strategies and innovations in collaboration with TikTok.

Tokopedia's Head of Communications, Aditia Grasio Nelwan, stated that they cannot speculate on the trend of Indonesia's e-commerce business. Regardless, Tokopedia is always adapting to meet the ever-changing needs of its users over time.

One of them is launching the Buy Local campaign, which coincides with the National Online Shopping Day (Harbolnas) on 12.12. This campaign is the first collaboration between Tokopedia and TikTok.

“The Buy Local campaign aims to help business actors, especially SMEs, to get a wider stage,” he said on Friday (26/1).

Reflecting on the last Harbolnas 12.12, the high enthusiasm of the public towards the Buy Local campaign had a positive impact on SME sales on Tokopedia. Several products were most popular in the Tokopedia Buy Local campaign on 12.12, including beauty products, body care, fashion, food and beverages, and household items.

Several local brands in the fashion sector on Tokopedia also experienced an average increase in transactions more than 13 times during the Buy Local 12.12 campaign compared to the average daily transactions in November 2023.

Tokopedia also recorded an increase in the average transactions of several local beauty and body care brands on Tokopedia almost 19 times, especially during the Buy Local 12.12 campaign compared to daily transactions the previous month.

Aditia believes that this positive transaction trend continues after the Harbolnas moment. For example, Tokopedia recorded an increase in the average transactions of several local beauty and body care brands by 62 times during the Buy Local campaign period from December 13, 2023, to January 10, 2024, compared to the average transactions in November 2023.

Furthermore, Tokopedia and TikTok are also committed to providing wider benefits for SME actors in Indonesia through various programs. One of them is encouraging the increase in capacity and competence of Indonesian SME actors through a comprehensive program that encourages capacity development and access to resources for goods producers and sellers.

Tokopedia and Tiktok also provide marketing, branding, and sustainable business practice support for SME actors. “We also support local business actors to promote their products in the international market,” he concluded.
