The Whoosh High-Speed Train Will Pass Through Yogyakarta

HIGH-SPEED TRAIN -JAKARTA. The government is preparing a feasibility test for the Jakarta-Surabaya High-Speed Train project. The first phase of this project reaches Yogyakarta.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation Adita Irawati confirmed the plan.

The Jakarta-Surabaya High-Speed Train project is still in the expert review stage. "Every option must be studied, a feasibility study still needs to be conducted," she told KONTAN, on Friday (26/1).

Meanwhile, according to the General Manager Corporate Secretary of KCIC Eva Chairunisa, the plan for the first phase of the Jakarta-Surabaya High-Speed Train project is being coordinated with the relevant ministries and institutions.

And, until now, there has been no final decision on whether the Jakarta-Surabaya High-Speed Train project will pass through Yogyakarta.

"What is certain, if we KCIC are given this assignment, then we are ready to carry out all directions from the government," Eva firmly stated.

Previously, the President Director of KCIC Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi conveyed, the plan for the Woosh High-Speed Train Jakarta-Surabaya that will pass through Yogyakarta.

This plan is considered, if the route is extended directly to Surabaya, it will likely require a larger cost and the construction time will also be longer.

The government is still working on the plan to extend the Whoosh route to Surabaya.
