INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS - JAKARTA. PT Hutama Karya continues to accelerate the completion of the National Strategic Project (PSN), namely the mega project of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS). Currently, Hutama Karya has made significant progress on several toll road sections or feeders located in Riau and West Sumatra Provinces.

As of December 15, 2023, the construction and land procurement progress of the Pekanbaru – Bangkinang toll road (STA 0-9 Km) has reached 100%. The construction of the Bangkinang – Pangkalan Phase I toll road (Bangkinang – Koto Kampar) (24.7 km) has reached 94.18%, with land procurement progress at 99.08%.

Also, the physical development progress of the Padang – Sicincin toll road (36.6 km) has reached 47.22% with land procurement progress having reached 94.10%.

Executive Vice President (EVP) of Hutama Karya, Tjahjo Purnomo mentioned that besides these three sections, Hutama Karya is also focused on completing one of the JTTS Phase II sections, namely the Rengat – Pekanbaru toll road Section Junction Pekanbaru – Bypass Pekanbaru with a total length of 30.57 km.

“The inter-regional connectivity through equitable infrastructure development continues to be pursued through the construction of the Pekanbaru Junction - Bypass Pekanbaru which will connect several toll road sections in Riau Province including the operational section, namely Pekanbaru – Dumai. The signing of the toll road business agreement (PPJT) was carried out last Friday (22/12),” said Tjahjo in his official statement, Thursday (4/1).

The signing was carried out by the Head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT), Miftachul Munir with the President Director of Hutama Karya, Budi Harto. Also present at this event were the Secretary of BPJT, Apri Artoto, BPJT Stakeholder Member Sony Sulaksono, Hutama Karya's Operations Director III, Koentjoro, EVP Toll Road Planning, Iwan Hermawan.

Meanwhile, the Pekanbaru – Bangkinang toll road was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the beginning of 2023, but there remains work along 9 km which will soon undergo Provisional Hand Over (PHO) or First Handover because it has been fully completed.

With this, the 40 km Pekanbaru – Bangkinang toll road will soon be fully connected, and will cut travel time from originally 1.5 hours to only 20-30 minutes.

The Bangkinang – Pangkalan Phase I construction section (Bangkinang – Koto Kampar) is equipped with various structural facilities including 8 bridges, 9 pedestrian boxes + box culverts, 3 overpasses, 1 interchange, 2x2 lanes with a planned speed of 80 km/hour.

This section was also operational during the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) moment, thus facilitating the flow of public traffic during the holiday. Since it was specially operated, this section was enthusiastically welcomed by the public.

Counting from Sunday (24/12/2024) to Tuesday (2/1/2024), a total of 10,918 vehicles passed through.

In addition to these three sections, Hutama Karya is also working on a toll road in West Sumatra Province, namely the Padang - Sicincin toll road with ongoing construction progress.

For information, this toll road will later have a number of structural facilities including 14 under bridge bridges, 1 interchange, 3 overpasses, 10 river and irrigation bridges. Meanwhile, this section will also be equipped with a number of lanes, namely 2x2 with a planned speed of 80 km/hour.

To accelerate development, President Jokowi again gave support for the implementation of the acceleration assignment of toll road construction in Sumatra through the addition of State Capital (PMN) amounting to IDR 28.88 trillion to Hutama Karya.
