The Number of Jabodebek LRT Users Increases Every Month During January-April 2024

TRANSPORTATION BUSINESS - JAKARTA. The number of users of the Jabodebek Light Rail Transit (LRT) reached 1,402,933 in April, marking a 2% increase from the previous month's 1,380,044 users. This continues the trend of consistent monthly growth in ridership for the LRT Jabodebek throughout 2024.

Public Relations Manager of LRT Jabodebek, Mahendro Trang Bawono, revealed that the average daily ridership on weekdays stands at 64,365 users, while weekends see an average of 26,650 users.

"Since January 2024, the number of LRT Jabodebek users has been on a steady rise. In fact, comparing the user count in April with that of January, we see a significant growth of 16%," said Mahendro in a statement on Friday (3/5).

Mahendro attributed this increase to the public's growing trust in the LRT Jabodebek service and the support from stakeholders such as the Ministry of Transportation through promotional fares.

Additionally, the frequency of LRT Jabodebek trips also plays a role in the rising number of users.

"KAI is confident that the trend of increasing LRT Jabodebek users will continue, in line with public trust in the reliability of this mode of transportation, which has been operational for less than a year," Mahendro stated.

KAI also expressed gratitude for the public's trust in choosing LRT Jabodebek as their preferred mode of transportation.

With this trust, KAI is committed to continuously improving the LRT Jabodebek service in line with public expectations and in support of the government's program to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce air pollution through the use of mass transportation.
