AUTOMOTIVE - JAKARTA. PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia (EMI), the Sole Agent Brand Holder (ATPM) and distributor of Mazda, announces its readiness to build its assembly center in Indonesia.
This significant step is claimed to mark a new chapter in the partnership between Mazda Motor Corporation (MC) and PT EMI, which is expected to have a positive impact on the automotive industry and the Indonesian economy.
Although the exact location has not been disclosed, the plan for the Mazda assembly center in Indonesia will be in West Java.
PT EMI estimates that the compact crossover will be the main category to be produced at this facility.
This is due to the fact that this segment is the most popular among consumers in Indonesia.
Ricky Thio, Managing Director of PT EMI, said that the construction of the assembly facility will be a significant milestone in meeting the demand of Mazda customers in Indonesia more efficiently and effectively, and is committed to maintaining quality standards equivalent to those fully assembled in Japan.
"We feel honored to have been entrusted by Mazda Motor Corporation to build an assembly center in Indonesia," said Ricky in his official statement, Wednesday (13/3/2024).
The background of the construction of the Mazda assembly center in Indonesia is based on MC's careful and strategic understanding of the huge potential of the automotive market in Indonesia.
In addition, the investment support from PT EMI, which is estimated to allocate about IDR 400 billion for the preparation of the entire project, marks the company's determination to be a reliable extension of MC, especially in efforts to become a key player in driving the growth of the automotive industry and economy in Indonesia.
Not only that, Ricky also explained that in the planning of this construction, Mazda in Indonesia prioritizes the empowerment of local communities, especially those in the West Java region.
