TELEKOMUNIKASI - PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) posted lower net profit in 9M 2018 on increasing operation and maintanance expenses, eventhough the revenue still up.
This largest telecommunication company in Indonesia reported a decline of 20.59% net profit to Rp 14.23 trillion, from Rp 17.92 trillion in the end of September 2017.
Meanwhile the company's revenue rose by 2.27% to Rp 99.20 trillion from Rp 97 trillion.
For the 9 months ended September, Telkom registered that operating and maintenance expenses increased by 23.3% to Rp 33.43 trillion. As a result, TLKM's gross profit margin was only 29.68%, down from 36.69 in the first nine months last year.
Based on Telkom's financial report released on Monday (10/29), the highest increase in operating expenses was due to operations and maintenance. It took Rp 17.49 trillion while the cost of information technology services was Rp 3.85 trillion.
On the other hand, data, internet and information technology services recorded an increase. The revenue of this segment reached Rp 58.58 trillion, up 11.56% compared to the same period last year of Rp 52.51 trillion.
The post of data, internet, and information technology services accounted for about 59% of Telkom's total revenue, up form last year of 54.13%.
