JAKARTA. As of the end of October 2016, the realization of tax revenues just amounted to Rp 870.95 trillion or equal with 64.27% of Rp 1,3189 trillion target set under the 2016 Revised State Budget. However, the figure actually grew by 13.3% compared with the tax revenues during the same period in 2015.
Director of Tax Potential, Compliance, and Revenue at Directorate General of Taxation Yon Arsal said that the tax revenues in 2016 are higher than in 2015. As of October 2016, tax authority has collected an Rp 78.5 trillion of tax revenues. However, Yon admitted that the tax amnesty revenues have major contribution to the total amount of tax revenues.
The monitoring data on the implementation of tax amnesty released by the Directorate General of Taxation show that the realization of redemption fees until Monday (7/11) has amounted to Rp 94.3 trillion. In October 2016, tax authority has collected Rp 948.3 billion redemption fees.
Aside of tax amnesty, Yon revealed that the tax revenues were also derived from the income tax revenues from oil and gas, as well as outside oil and gas sectors, which amounted to Rp 27.97 trillion and Rp 842.98 trillion, respectively. Meanwhile, the income tax revenues of non-oil and gas sector and value added tax (VAT) revenues amounted to Rp 513.27 trillion and Rp 307.27 trillion, respectively.
According to Yon, the VAT revenue growth is still negative 0.68%. Although still negative, this is still better compared with the VAT revenues growth during the same period in 2015 that decreased by 2.74%.
As the realizations of the tax revenues as of October 2016 have amounted to Rp 870.95 trillion, Yon is optimistic that the target of tax revenues by the end of December 2016 is still consistent with the initial prognosis.
He said, the outlook of tax revenues by the end of December 2016 is still consistent with the initial prognosis, which amounted to Rp 1,318.9 trillion in reduced potential shortfall of Rp 215 trillion to Rp 1,103.9 trillion. With the enrollment rate at this time, it is believed the target would be achieved. "The figure is still quite realistic for us to achieve," he said.
Moreover, based on experience, at the end of the year, state revenues are likely to increase. Government spending at the end of year may still quite large even though it has been allocated massively in the beginning of the year. "Government spending will still quite dominant in the future," he said. VAT revenue is predicted to rise, including from tax amnesty in the second period.
Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that the authority should maintain the routine income in order to sustain the state revenues amid the sluggish national economy.
