COMPANY EXPANSION - JAKARTA. Thermo Asri Makmur (TAM) and Dalian Bingshan Engineering & Trading Co., Ltd have officially launched a joint venture company named PT Bingshan Makmur Indonesia (BMI).
The newly established company is set to focus on providing efficient and environmentally friendly cold chain solutions.
Jason Halim, President Director of PT Bingshan Makmur Indonesia, stated that BMI represents a synergy between global technology and local service capabilities.

The company aims to boost growth across Indonesia’s food, beverage, seafood, logistics, and pharmaceutical sectors. Its product lineup is diverse and adaptable to serve various business scales, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
“We want to help home industries in Indonesia as well. It’s not just about the big players. We have to focus on how we can support everyday people. That’s why we offer smaller-scale equipment—so that products can be stored fresher and better. Through this collaboration, we hope to help develop the local market,” said Jason during the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the International Indonesia Seafood & Meat (IISM) Expo and Indonesia Cold Chain Expo at JIExpo on Saturday (May 10).
During the launch event, BMI also showcased some of its flagship products, including small-scale cold rooms for small businesses, kitchen freezers for catering services, and 20-horsepower outdoor condensing units (OCUs) for industrial HVAC projects.
These exhibits reflected the wide range and scalability of BMI's offerings tailored to various business needs.
Jason emphasized that Indonesia's cold chain sector holds tremendous growth potential, driven by its large population, underserved regions, government support, and increasing awareness of the benefits of cold chain solutions.

According to Mordor Intelligence, Indonesia’s cold chain logistics market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10% between 2025 and 2030.
This growth is fueled by rising demand for temperature-controlled storage and transportation, particularly in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and agricultural sectors.
The rapid expansion of e-commerce and processed food industries, along with evolving consumer expectations and shifting supply chain needs, further underscore the importance of robust cold chain systems to maintain product quality and efficiency across distribution networks—even reaching the homes of small-scale entrepreneurs.
Currently, TAM operates six wholly-owned branches in Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Solo, Surabaya, and Bali, underlining its strong commitment to reliability and customer service.
Looking ahead, Jason confirmed that BMI is not stopping at this initial phase and plans to continuously expand its cold chain sales network throughout Indonesia.

“Growth is inevitable. We’ve only just started. We’ll provide updates in due time, but the potential is definitely huge. We’re already seeing strong feedback. For now, we’re focusing on Java to ensure smooth integration and strong synergy through proper training,” he explained.
