CORPORATE STRATEGIC - JAKARTA. PT Suryacipta Swadaya, the manager of the Subang Smartpolitan industrial area, is aiming to sell as much as 164 hectares of land throughout this year.

The entity, a part of PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk (SSIA), is optimistic that this target can be achieved due to the high interest from investors, particularly foreign investors, in establishing factories in the industrial area.

“The corporate target is to sell 60 hectares for Subang Smartpolitan. However, we believe we will close (sales) above 164 hectares this year," revealed Abednego Purnomo, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at PT Suryacipta Swadaya, when met by the media on Wednesday (8/5).

He mentioned that the enthusiasm of foreign investors, especially from China, to enter Indonesia has been quite significant since the end of 2022, precisely after China reopened its doors post-pandemic.

On the other hand, the trade war between America and China has also prompted this country to expand into new markets, and Indonesia is one of the targeted countries.

These factors are what make the company optimistic that the industrial area, which began development in 2020, has the potential to continue to grow in the future.

When asked about the industrial sectors being targeted to occupy Subang Smartpolitan, Abednego stated that so far, the industries that will enter Subang Smartpolitan include the automotive sector, FMCG, household electronics, and the garment sector.

“Subang Smarpolitan is targeted for clean industries, not just EVs. Perhaps in another 1.5 months, we will hear again about signing with a high-tech garment industry," he explained.

For additional information, Subang Smartpolitan, which spans 2,717 hectares, was first introduced by Suryacipta in 2020. Currently, the development of phase 1 is being carried out gradually, with operations expected to begin in the fourth quarter.

As for the investment value, Suryacipta has so far disbursed up to IDR 3 trillion for land acquisition and area development.
