TAX - JAKARTA. Some senior Indonesian lawmakers said on Thursday they had proposed to the government to only raise the current value-added tax rate for luxury items.
Lawmaker Mukhamad Misbakhun told reporters about the proposal after meeting with President Prabowo Subianto. Indonesian law mandates that the value-added tax rate be increased to 12% from the current 11% on Jan. 1, 2025.
