Semen Gresik Factory in Rembang as a National Vital Object in the Industrial Sector

ISSUER NEWS - JAKARTA. The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has designated the factory operated by a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), namely PT Semen Gresik, as a National Vital Object (Obvitnas) in the Industrial Sector.

This designation is stipulated in the Decree of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia Number 4783 of 2023 dated November 16, 2023.

The PT Semen Gresik factory located in Rembang is designated as Obvitnas because it is considered to contribute positively in meeting important needs for the welfare of the people or controlling the needs of many people.

SIG Corporate Secretary, Vita Mahreyni said the designation of the PT Semen Gresik factory in Rembang as Obvitnas is a recognition and real support from the government for the strategic role of the Company in supporting the growth of the national industry.

“SIG appreciates the designation of the PT Semen Gresik factory in Rembang as Obvitnas by Kemenperin. This is a strategic step to support smooth operations," said Vita in her official statement, Friday (26/1).

Vita added that the PT Semen Gresik factory in Rembang operates with the support of state-of-the-art technology that meets international standards and is operated by the best human resources. This is done to achieve high-quality and environmentally friendly cement production.

In addition to supporting development and progress in the region through economic contributions, both from taxes and levies, the Company also drives community empowerment programs in the surrounding operational areas.

Until now, PT Semen Gresik has been recorded as the highest tax and levy contributor in Rembang Regency, Central Java. Community empowerment is also carried out through various programs.
