SBY installs four new ambassadors

JAKARTA. President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono installed at the Presidential Palace on Friday four new ambassadors to represent Indonesia abroad.

The envoys, as quoted by tribunnews.com, are destined for Saudi Arabia, Bulgaria and Albania, Kenya and Mauritius, Seychelles, Uganda, Iraq and the UNEP and UNHCS.

The Uni Arab Emirates post will be filled by Salman Alfarisi, who will reside in the country’s capital of Abu Dhabi, while the Bulgaria and Albania posts will be led by Bunyan Saptomo, who will reside in Bulgaria’s capital, Sofia.

Lt. Gen. Safzen Nurdin, a former marine chief commander, will be posted to Baghdad in Iraq, the scene of turmoil and security crises since the US and allied forces’ invasion several years ago.

Sunu Mahadi Sumarmo will lead the diplomatic corps in Kenya, Mauritius, the Seychelles and Uganda, as well as dealing with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UN Centre for Human Settlement (UNHCS). (The Jakarta Post)
