JAKARTA. State port operator PT Pelindo II’s chief says the company wants to earn Rp 3.7 trillion (US$ 410 million) in revenue and Rp 1.3 trillion in net profits in 2011.
"This year Pelindo II managed to earn Rp 1.1 trillion in profits, exceeding its previous target of Rp 999 billion," Pelindo II president director RJ Lino told reporters on the sidelines of the launch of the Tanjung Priok port authority in North Jakarta.
The biggest chunk of the increased profits was due to a 20 percent increase in the number of containers handled by the Tanjung Priok port, he said.
Pelindo II would allocate Rp 2.5 trillion in capital expenditure to boost productivity in 2011, he said.
"The budget will finance new a port project in Kali Baru, North Jakarta, as well as to purchase new port equipment," he said.
