JAKARTA. Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK) chief Muhammad Yusuf says his institution has not found evidence of suspicious bank accounts in its investigations into the 43 ministerial candidates proposed by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla.

“No ministerial candidates have rekening gendut [fat bank accounts],” he told reporters at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in Kuningan, South Jakarta on Thursday as quoted by tempo.co.

He said his institution had finished the investigation on Oct. 19 and the completed report had also been given to Jokowi.

Jokowi asked the PPATK to gather all the financial information of his 43 ministerial candidates in an effort to appoint “clean” ministers.

Besides the PPATK, the President also asked the KPK to help investigate the track records of the ministerial candidates as he did not want his ministers being named graft suspects in the future.

KPK chief Abraham Samad said his investigators had red-flagged eight ministerial candidates as they were allegedly involved in graft. Samad hoped Jokowi would not select them as Cabinet members.

The KPK chief refused to disclose the identities of the red-flagged candidates. (alz/nfo)
