JAKARTA. Chinese technology firm Lenovo is targeting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia with the launch of its latest server and storage products with the aim of expanding its current market share.
"The products we launch are on the entry level. Small and medium enterprises usually need servers on that level," said Lenovo Indonesia Enterprise Business Group (EBG) head Vony Tjiu during the product launch in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The products launched were the Lenovo Storage S2200 and S3200, the Lenovo ThinkServer RD350 and ThinkServer TS140 and the Lenovo XClarity management system, which were seen to suit SMEs’ daily business needs.
She estimated that there were around 1.6 million SME business units in Indonesia, which she saw as a potential huge market.
"Even getting a 10 percent share of the market is a lot," she added.
Vony said that the company's 2014 market share in the server industry amounted to 19.6 percent and Lenovo aimed for a 5.6-point increase this year.
For the storage market, Lenovo aimed for a double-digit market share by 2017. (fsu)
