TEXTILE INDUSTRY - JAKARTA. JAKARTA. The textile and textile product (TPT) industry in Indonesia has been experiencing an unending trend of layoffs since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to data from the Indonesian Textile Association (API), from the TPT industry centers located in West Java and Central Java, a total of 7,200 workers were laid off from the beginning to the end of 2023.
